A short story about a man who had all the time in the world.
The Timeless Space
In wanderings near and far the wayfaring man found himself in a place where time was no longer a constraint. The physicality of his wandering was within his mind and his travels were no further than his backyard, yet he found himself one day in a timeless space without the thrashings of aging and the usual degradations of time.
The timeless space was seemingly a manifestation of his mediation, yet it was far different from self-realization, as he was at odds with the self. The self was the problem in his mind, it needed to be lost on a higher purpose that didn’t promote self-worship.
Even dreams were constrained by time, as he remembered the pressures of doing something and being somewhere at a certain time within their bizarre plots.
He’d never realized the pressures time placed upon him until he entered into this timeless realm. He now realized the conditioning of time sensitivity was immense and all-encompassing upon the frailty of his human mind and soul. The detrimental effects it was having upon his every thought and behavior only now revealed how enslaved he was to its pressing dictates.
Time and death were friends to each other he thought. Conversely, timelessness and life…
