Fleeting Moments in Time

A poem about memories and the people we love.

Will it all be forgotten?

I remember staying up late

Watching the same VHS movies

Trying to beat time

Holding onto the moment

Yet, I would eventually fall asleep

Waking to another day

Those moments I remember together

As a collection of one memory

When young we see our family unit

The people who are around us regularly

These are the most important people in the world

The world should know them

When we get older more people come into our lives

We may expand the family unit

Placing the older one to the side

The new and old family units merge

The memories of the youth are made

We realize the world is large

Many people roam about making their memories without us

Without those we consider famous to ourselves

Age brings wisdom and our smallness humility
