A short story about a man who found himself aptly labeled a conspiracy theorist in his search for truth and meaning.

Seeking meaning and truth

When growing up as an adolescent and young man, the now middle-aged man didn’t foresee his conversion into what is now popularly called a conspiracy theorist. He was simply seeking the meaning of life and following the objective truth where it led.

His undogmatic parents allowed him to freely consider the possibilities without guilt or hindrance. While this open-mindedness was a positive factor in his formative years, he found himself in need of structure after years of searching brought him to abstract failures and self-loathing conundrums.

The broad paths to anywhere and nowhere were always willing to welcome his inquisitive exploration, yet the limitations of an average lifetime full of work and toil started to hamper the infinite time and space he perceived was available in his youthful fantasies.

The open and abstract future of possibilities became like a crude cycle of jest leading to confusion and mediocrity. His illusions of grandeur were dissipating with every notch on the average working man’s life he achieved.

Amid the doldrums of working adulthood, the search and love for truth persisted beyond his fantasies…
