Well said, it's amazing how we didn't need the conveniences before we knew they existed, how we got by just fine. Now that we have them with technology, going without seems hard, especially when trying to be part of society where everyone uses them.
The horse and carriage just seems like progress to me at this point.
What worries me is the values being created by social media, I don't see our society recovering from this degeneracy. All we can do individually is use them to make the world a better place, despite the prevelant trends doing the opposite.
